Last call for coastal management feedback

8 October 2021

Four icons representing the broad coastal management options for responding to sea level rise and coastal hazards: accommodate, protect, avoid and retreat

There is just one week remaining for you to give feedback on our broad coastal management options for responding to sea level rise and coastal hazards.

Share your views and ideas before 15 October 2021, and see what others have to say on our Coastal Management Community Conversations page.

You can find out more about this important project by watching the live webinar that was recorded on Tuesday 28 September 2021 and features presenters Dr Rob Bell, Diana Worthy, and Glenn Stevens. Around 160 people tuned in across the three September online events and the panel answered more than 50 questions live.

By looking at what we know about sea level rise and coastal hazards in Tasman now, and the options we have for responding, we will be better prepared for future decision-making.

Next steps for the Coastal Management Project will be to consider specific options at the local level around Tasman - as well as running a process to learn more about community preferences.

Long-term adaptive planning work will take several years to complete and the community conversation will be ongoing.
